In a stunning upset, 18-year-old Indian chess prodigy R Praggnanandhaa defeated world number three Fabiano Caruana in the semifinals of the Chess World Cup on Monday. Praggnanandhaa won the match 3.5-2.5, setting up a title clash with world number one Magnus Carlsen in the final.

Praggnanandhaa's victory over Caruana was a major upset. Caruana is one of the world's top chess players, and he had been the favorite to win the match. However, Praggnanandhaa played brilliantly, and he was able to outplay Caruana in several key moments.
The final between Praggnanandhaa and Carlsen will be a rematch of the 2018 World Chess Championship. Carlsen won that match in convincing fashion, but Praggnanandhaa will be hoping to turn the tables this time around.
The Chess World Cup final will be played in Madrid, Spain from August 26 to September 10.
