Indian football teams are not part of the Asian Games
The Indian football teams are not part of the Asian Games for two reasons:

- The Sports Ministry of India has a policy of only sending teams to the Asian Games that are ranked among the top eight in Asia. The Indian men's football team is currently ranked 18th in Asia, and the women's team is ranked 11th.
- The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has to approve all teams that participate in the Asian Games. The IOA has decided not to send the Indian football teams because of their low rankings.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has appealed the IOA's decision, but it is unlikely that the teams will be allowed to participate in the Asian Games.
There are a number of reasons why the Indian football teams are not ranked highly. One reason is that cricket is much more popular in India than football. As a result, there is less funding for football and fewer opportunities for players to develop their skills. Another reason is that the Indian football federation has been plagued by corruption and mismanagement in recent years.
The exclusion of the Indian football teams from the Asian Games is a setback for the sport in India. It is hoped that the AIFF and the IOA can work together to improve the ranking of the Indian football teams so that they can compete in future Asian Games.
